PARALEGALS — WASHINGTON D.C.

 

PARALEGAL COORDINATOR — Large, international law firm has an immediate opening for a paralegal coordinator to work out of its Washington, DC office.  Candidate will provide assistance to the Director of Paralegals and handle administrative affairs for the firm's Paralegal Department.  Candidates should have at least 3 years of direct paralegal experience, preferrably at a large law firm, and a desire to move into a management role.  Responsibilities include: maintaining confidential personnel files, reviewing and approving timesheets, monitoring department expenses and budges, preparing financial reports, assisting with yearly performance reviews, coordinating new hires and training, tracking employee absences, and assisting with the supervision of the department.  Other duties as necessary.  $50,000+, DOE. 

 

CORPORATE TRANSACTIONAL PARALEGAL DuPont/West End Washington, DC firm has an immediate opening for a corporate paralegal to work in the firm's Corporate and Business Transactions practice group.  Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years' experience working as a paralegal in corporate transactions, including: preparing/organizing mergers and acquisitions filings and transactions; checking the availability of corporate names and conducting and organizing due dilligence research and related materials; assisting in commercial real estate closings; drafting statements of partnership, certificates of limited partnership, agreements for dissolution of partnership, and non-competition agreements for selling partners; preparing SEC disclosure and UCC financing statements; and filing documents with the appropriate state and government agencies.  Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree.  $45,000+. 

 

LITIGATION PARALEGAL — DC firm has an immediate opening for an experienced litigation paralegal for complex litigation matters.  Successful candidate will have a minimum of 3-4 years complex or large case litigation experience, excellent organization skills, and familiarity with litigation support software and/or databases.  Experience in case management, document production, trial preparation, cite checking, and online research a plus.  Four-year degree with excellent academic credentials required; paralegal certificate preferred.  $45,000 to $55,000. 

 

SENIOR LITIGATION PARALEGAL — A premier litigation firm is seeking a senior litigation paralegal.  Position will support all facets of discovery and trial preparation including document production, coordination with counsel and may be required to supervise case support staff. The candidate should have at least three years of litigation experience, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.  Availability to travel and work overtime may be required.  Starting salary of $70,000 plus benefits.

LEGAL SECRETARIES & SUPPORT STAFF —

WASHINGTON D.C.

 

CONFLICTS SPECIALIST - Conflicts department seeks a specialist to facilitate and process new client business and lateral attorney candidates.  Responsibilities include inputting and updating new client/matter information, generating new business reports and active matter reports, identifying and closing inactive matters and special projects, as needed.  Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in coordination with a team essential.  Two+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred, as well as demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.  Salary starting at $40,000.

 

LEGAL SECRETARY — Law firms are looking for top legal secretaries with 5 years of experience or more.  Positions available in multiple practice areas, but particularly patent, trademark and litigation.  Stable work history a must.  Salary is competitive.

 

LITIGATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST — This position is responsible for both the coordination and direct support for all phases of litigation and practice support projects.  Responsibilities include working with case teams to determine the most efficient and cost effective manner to automate cases; projecting costs for coding; database design; troubleshooting data problems and monitoring work for quality control.  Maintaining extensive internal contracts to ensure needs are addressed and met.  Regularly meet with attorneys and paralegals to discuss upcoming projects.  Hires, trains, and supervises temporary staff as needed for caseload.  Position requires an associates degree with 5+ years of equivalent experience.  Appropriate candidate must have strong working knowledge of Summation, Concordance, Opticon, FYI Server, Legal Access Ware, LiveNote, Sanction, CaseMap and TimeMap, and e-discovery in general.  Thorough working knowledge of full-text retrieval systems and databases.  Must have working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software, and also with uploading/exporting data.  $55,000 to $85,000. 

 

USER SUPPORT SPECIALIST — DC firm has an immediate opening for a User Support Specialist to provide customer service through a combination of technical expertise and pleasant personal interactions.  Provide telephone support, desk-side assistance, and follow-up to users.  Responsibilities include logging all calls and assistance requests into the online tracking system.  Coordinate all technical solutions for non-technical users through the use of help desk software and personal interactions.  Assist in the conversion and clean up of documents received on disk and in email messages.  Troubleshoot and resolve general computer/work product issues.  Document general and specific troubleshooting techniques, in addition to producing and incorporating audio, video, and graphics into projects for trial and administrative purposes.  Work with directors, managers, and administrators as directed.  Light network and administration services also required, but must have extensive knowledge of network environments.  Must also have extensive knowledge of MS Office (2000/2002/2003).  Interwoven, Desk Site, Delta View, and Lotus Notes also preferred.  Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years experience in a law firm systems department.  $55,000 to $60,000.

ACCOUNTING — WASHINGTON D.C.

 

BILLING ASSISTANT --- Will work under the direction of the Billing Manager and will provide client billing support and work on related special projects as directed.  This person will act as the liaison between billing attorneys and the accounting department, provide financial reports and information to billing attorneys and perform special projects as requested by the billing attorneys, research accounting records to reconcile billing and update/maintain client billing records in accounting system.  Candidates must have strong organizational and communication skills, be detail and deadline oriented and proficient in MS Office.  Must have 2-3 years of billing experience, preferably in a law firm environment.   $48,000 is the starting salary.

 

ACCOUNTING - Several junior-level accountants needed for accounting departments in law firms.  Qualified candidates will have at least two years of accounting experience in payables, receivables or collections.  Must have strong data entry skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.  Law firm experience and college degree preferred.  Salary starts at $30,000 plus overtime.
